KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Regal Entertainment Group (NYS: RGC) , a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, announces that Vin Diesel and Regal are calling for fans to create an original poster design for his new movie "Riddick." "The success of a franchise like 'Riddick' is only possible with amazing fans like you," said Vin Diesel in an exclusive video message to Regal moviegoers that is available on the Regal Fan Art Challenge website and seen onscreen at Regal Cinemas. "I'd like to extend an opportunity for Regal moviegoers and Riddick fanatics across the country to design one of our official, theatrical movie posters. I'll personally select the winning design which will be used to promote the opening of 'Riddick' at Regal theatres nationwide."

On Thursday, August 15, Regal will announce Vin Diesel's selection of the winning poster design. Starting Sept. 6, the premiere date for "Riddick," this fan-created poster will be available to moviegoers at Regal Cinemas, United Artists and Edwards Theatre playing the film. The mini-posters will be given away for free while supplies last. The winning artist will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Hollywood and a Los Angeles screening of Riddick as well as a framed, autographed copy of their winning poster design.

"Riddick," the latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000's hit sci-fi film, "Pitch Black," and 2004's, "The Chronicles of Riddick," reunites writer/director David Twohy ("A Perfect Getaway," "The Fugitive") and star Vin Diesel (the "Fast and Furious" franchise, "xXx"). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.
