It's Official: Google Is the New Microsoft

Although it's a source of nearly constant coverage in the media, it's hard to overstate how important the shift from desktop to mobile has been for businesses and investors. And as perhaps the biggest tech trend of the next 10 years unfolds further, it's full effects are only starting to play out. In fact, we saw many of the most essential themes play out in a big way in the most recent spate of earnings reports.

However as we see many PC-centric businesses slowly fade, it's becoming increasingly clear that one company is likely to hold more sway than the rest in our mobile world: search giant Google , which only recently surpassed the tech superpower of yore, Microsoft , in size.
