IBM Keeps Dividend Steady

IBM has elected to maintain its dividend policy. The company declared a payout of $0.95 per share, to be dispensed on Sept. 10 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 9. That amount matches the company's previous dividend, which was paid last month. Before that, IBM was less generous by a dime, dispensing $0.85 per share.

For a tech company, IBM has a long and storied history of paying quarterly distributions on a consistent basis. It has handed them out every year since 1916.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $3.80 per share. That yields 1.9% at the company's most recent closing stock price of $196.01.
