Headwaters (NYS: HW) reported earnings on July 30. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS details
EPS came in at $0.13. The four earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ predicted $0.18 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.13 for Q3 were 225% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.04 per share. (The prior-year quarter included -$0.25 per share in earnings from discontinued operations.) GAAP EPS were $0.15 for Q3 versus -$0.22 per share for the prior-year quarter.

Margin details
For the quarter, gross margin was 29.7%, 10 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 11.8%, 270 basis points better than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 5.6%, much better than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)

Looking ahead
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $218.8 million. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.23.

Next year's average estimate for revenue is $708.1 million. The average EPS estimate is $0.22.
