Skolnicki Joins EdR to Support Growing Public-Private Partnerships

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- EdR (NYS: EDR) , a leader in the ownership, development and management of collegiate housing, today announced that Julie Skolnicki, AIA, LEED AP, has joined its development team as senior vice president of university partnerships.

With more than 15 years of higher education experience resulting in more than $2 billion in development, Skolnicki has focused her career on creating dynamic student-life environments driven by institutional objectives.

Skolnicki joins EdR from Brailsford & Dunlavey, where she served as vice president. She worked on more than 100 college and university projects during her 14-year tenure including the development of The Ohio State University's North Residential District Transformation which she will continue to support. This $370 million, multi-phased project is scheduled to be completed for fall semester 2016 and will add 3,200 new beds along with new dining, recreation and other support facilities to the campus.

"The interest level for public-private partnerships (P3) financed through EdR's ONE Plan has grown significantly in the last two years," said Tom Trubiana, EdR executive vice president and chief investment officer.

"With our successful P3 track record, experience and financial strength, EdR is uniquely positioned to capture more of this growing market. Julie's expertise and leadership will be a significant factor in maximizing future opportunities in this important growth area," added Trubiana.

"EdR's reputation for high-quality projects and innovative financing as well as a collaborative partnering focus and strong balance sheet drew me toward this opportunity," said Skolnicki. "My expertise should blend well with the EdR team and I'm excited about the possibilities."

A registered architect, Skolnicki brings a strong background in planning, design and construction along with an exceptional understanding of finance and development structures. These have been the keys to her success in creating master plans for on-campus housing, managing complex projects and teams in the collegiate environment to bring projects to completion on time and on budget.
