Raytheon Keeps Dividend Steady

Defense contractor Raytheonannounced yesterday its third-quarter dividend of $0.55 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past two quarters after raising the payout 10% from $0.50 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on October 31 to holders of record at the close of business on October 2. The defense contractor has made payouts to investors since 1954.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $2.20-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.2% based on the closing price today of Raytheon's stock.
