Extensive Healthcare Industry Experience Adds Strength to Executive Team

WESTPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- TriStar Wellness Solutions, Inc. (OTCQB: TWSI), a health and wellness company that targets opportunities in the self-care and professional marketplace, has appointed Bill Shields as Sr. Vice President of Sales and Business Development for its wholly owned subsidiary HemCon Medical Technologies Inc.


Mr. Shields, age 43, joins HemCon's professional team to help drive growth and profits based on a new commitment to support sales and business development activities domestically and internationally, as well as focus the strategic direction of all global sales efforts and partner alliances. He brings extensive experience and a proven track record of growth over the course of 17 years from leading healthcare and medical device companies including IH Systems, Oligos Etc., Parata Systems and Epitope/OraSure Technologies.

Mr. Shields began his career as a market development and account sales representative with OraSure, a manufacturer and distributor of oral fluid diagnostic and collection devices based in Bethlehem, PA. He has held different positions of increasing responsibility through his career, most recently operating as the VP of Sales & Marketing for IH Systems, a Canadian pharmacy automation business. He has held positions with companies across the country and internationally. He graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing concentration and political science.
