Allstate Keeps Dividend Steady

Insurer Allstateannounced yesterday its third-quarter dividend of $0.25 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past two quarters after raising the payout 14% from $0.22 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Oct. 1 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 31. The insurer has made quarterly payouts to investors since 1993.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.00-per-share annual dividend, yielding 2% based on the closing price today of Allstate's stock.
