Plantronics to Deliver Keynote at the Wearable Tech Expo

Leader in Wearable Devices to Announce Advances in their Developer Program

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Plantronics (NYS: PLT) , a pioneer in wearable technology, will share exciting advances in the company's developer program during a keynote presentation at the Wearable Tech Expo in New York City. Cary Bran, senior director of Innovation and New Ventures at PLT Labs, a group within Plantronics will present and demonstrate the essential technology advances that make wearables possible. The Wearable Tech Expo is being held July 24-25 at the Kimmel Center at NYU in New York City.

Plantronics has been a wearable tech pioneer for decades - developing and delivering personal audio solutions that are worn by millions to communicate. By making advances in on-board sensor technology and exposed APIs, the company has moved the classic headset beyond audio and transformed it into a wearable device and platform with possibilities only limited by a developer's imagination.

Bran will be joined by Tanguy Leborgne, vice president of Consumer Solutions at Plantronics, to discuss the underlying technology advances that are making wearables possible. They will also demonstrate new functionalities currently under development within PLT Labs™, a dedicated group within Plantronics focused on fostering a community of co-creation with other hardware and software developers. They will explain how the company's sensor-enabled wearables are a platform for developers to deliver real world information into applications. Bran will also participate in the "Enterprise Wearable Technology" panel on Wednesday, where he will demonstrate how sensor-based headset technology is opening new doors to employee productivity.
