DOWNERS GROVE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- This month, DeVry University celebrates the 40th anniversary of its Keller Graduate School of Management. Throughout its four-decade history, the institution has established itself as a pioneer in graduate-level higher education, with more than 50,000 alumni who are proud to call Keller Graduate School of Management their alma mater.
Founded as the CBA Institute in 1973 by Dennis Keller and Ron Taylor, the Chicago-based institution became Keller Graduate School of Management in 1976. The institution quickly established its commitment to quality education by becoming the first private-sector institution to receive regional accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC/NCA) in 1977. Originally offering a Certificate in Business Administration, the institution later became the forerunner of the "Executive MBA" programs that would emerge decades later.
In 1987, Keller Graduate School of Management acquired DeVry Institute of Technology to create DeVry Inc. In 1998, Keller was one of the first graduate schools to offer its master's degree programs online. In 2002, Keller Graduate School of Management and DeVry Institute of Technology merged to form DeVry University.
