Microsoft Launches New Windows Phone on Sprint
With the help of Sprint and HTC, Microsoft has put out another Windows Phone.
On Friday, Sprint launched HTC 8XT, seemingly aimed at media-hungry users. Not only does the phone come with dual front-facing speakers and Beats Audio software, but PhoneArena.com says Sprint has also thrown in its Sprint TV and Sprint Music Plus service. HTC touts its camera, which can take multishot pictures and adjust for low light.
The HTC 8XT comes with 4.3" WVGA 480X800 display, 1.4 GHz dual-core processor, and 8GB of built-in storage and a Micro SD slot.
As the phone is a Windows Phone, Microsoft has added in a few of its freebies. Buyers will have access to Microsoft professional tools, corporate security features, and 7GB of SkyDrive cloud storage.
The phone is now available on Sprint for $99.99, after a $50 rebate and with a two-year contract. Microsoft says the 8XT is the carrier's first Windows Phone 8 model, but that Sprint announced last month that the Samsung ATIV S Neo is expected to arrive later this summer for $149.99 with a new two-year contract.
