FreightCar America Gets a New CFO

FreightCar America has found an executive to lead its finance team. The company announced that it appointed Charles Avery as its CFO, vice president of finance, and treasurer, replacing Joseph McNeely. Avery will take up his position on Aug. 1.

The move comes more than two months after the company promoted McNeely to the president and COO posts.

Avery is a longtime executive, most recently occupying the vice president, corporate controller, and CFO positions at Federal Signal. Before that, he served in various capacities at Home Products International, and spent more than a decade at financial services provider Arthur Andersen.
