How To Make Yourself Happier At Work

Is happiness in the workplace possible? Most workers today live with constant economic insecurity and, as a result, are miserable at work. No wonder, then, that there has been a proliferation of books about happiness -- and one of the most popular is The Happiness Project, by Gretchen Rubin, a New York-based writer and AOL Jobs contributor.

In her book, which has spent two years on The New York Times Best Seller list, Rubin analyzes scientific research and lessons from popular culture and offers concrete tips on how to be happier. "Relationships are key," she said during this week's AOL Jobs' "Lunchtime Live" episode on Friday. "In research, people report they are happy if have a good friend at work or if they feel their immediate boss cares about them," she added.

Rubin was joined in the conversation by Heidi Golledge, the CEO of CareerBliss, the online job search community devoted to helping workers find happiness in their job.
