Engility Celebrates First Anniversary

CHANTILLY, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Engility Corporation (NYS: EGL) , a leading pure-play government services contractor that supports its customers' missions by delivering highly skilled professionals wherever and whenever they are needed in the most cost-effective manner, celebrates its 1-year anniversary today.

"In 12 months, we have created a new business model for delivering specialized technology and mission expertise to our government partners," said Engility President and CEO Tony Smeraglinolo. "The successes we have enjoyed as a new company are a tribute to the dedication of our employees, outstanding professionals who deliver superior results for our customers every day."

"In today's historically challenging marketplace, Engility has raised the bar in the government services contracting industry," said Engility Chairman of the Board Edward "Pete" Boykin. "We are privileged to work in an industry where we truly can contribute to our Nation's foreign policy, and we have the right business model and the right people in place to execute on our customers' mission priorities within their tightly constrained budgets."

Since its independence last July, Engility has been awarded more than $14 billion in new contract vehicles and recently won its largest re-compete contract for 2013, a $116 million contract with the U.S. Army Contracting Command. In addition, the company has been recognized for the measures it has taken to ensure exceptional service and quality for its customers, including recognition by the National Veteran Small Business Coalition for exceptional support of veteran and service-disabled veteran small businesses. In April, the Association for Corporate Growth, based in Northern Virginia, presented Engility with its award for Greatest Regional Impact Deal of the Year. And recently, Washington Technology magazine named Engility to its list of the Top 100 government contractors.

Engility also announced this week that as part of its anniversary celebration, the company is making significant donations to the National Military Family Association, the Federal Employee Education and Assistance Fund, and CARE.

"We are making the donations on behalf of our employees to these very commendable organizations whose missions intersect closely with our business and the customers we support," Smeraglinolo said.

Engility's customers include all of the U.S. military services and many agencies within the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Agency for International Development, U.S. Department of State, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Homeland Security, and allied foreign governments.

"The men and women of Engility proudly support a diverse set of customers and they seamlessly execute complex missions while anticipating and meeting ever-evolving requirements," Smeraglinolo said. "Our projects range from small teams supporting specific technology research and analysis to more extensive, leading-edge policy and operational implementation."

Upon its independence, Engility undertook a dramatic realignment of the company, consolidating business units that previously had operated separately and maintained multiple functional support organizations, into a single, integrated company. In four-and-one-half months the company was realigned, redundancies were eliminated, and functional processes were centralized. This kind of reorganization typically takes 12 to 18 months.

Engility recently launched a rebranding campaign that, like its business model, separates the company from its competitors. "Built for Today. Designed for Tomorrow." is the theme for this initiative, which reinforces Engility's position and declares, "Engility is driving the new model for government services." "Our first year has given us a solid foundation for growth and continued success," Smeraglinolo said. "We created Engility to thrive in the current Federal budget environment and I am very confident about our future."
