Southwest Airlines Makes It 148 in a Row

Airline operator Southwest Airlinesannounced today its third-quarter dividend of $0.04 per share, the same rate it paid last quarter after quadrupling the payout from $0.01 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Aug. 29 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 8. The payout marks the 148th consecutive quarterly dividend the airline operator has paid.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.16-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.2% based on the closing price today of Southwest Airlines' stock.
