Sonoco Products Keeps Dividend Steady

Packaging specialist Sonoco Products announced today its third-quarter dividend of $0.31 per share, the same rate it paid last quarter after raising the payout 3% from $0.30 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Sept. 10 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 16. The company has made quarterly payouts to investors since 1925. It has paid dividends to investors for 353 consecutive quarters.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.24-per-share annual dividend, yielding 3.4% based on the closing price today Sonoco Products' stock.
