Sherwin-Williams Paints It Black With Steady Dividend

Paint maker Sherwin-Williamsannounced today its third-quarter dividend of $0.50 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past two quarters after raising the payout 28%.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Sept. 6 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 16. The coatings specialist has made quarterly payouts to investors since 1979.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $2.00-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.1% based on the closing price today of Sherwin-Williams' stock
