NEWNAN, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Bonnell Aluminum, a subsidiary of Tredegar Corporation (NYS: TG) , announced that it has achieved the International Organization for Standardization / Technical Specification (ISO/TS) 16949 certification for its Newnan, GA facility.

Developed by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and the ISO Technical Committee, ISO/TS 16949 is a technical specification that aligns global automotive quality systems standards and fosters the development of a quality management system for use in the automotive supply chain. The registration process was conducted with the assistance of UL DQS Inc. Management Systems Solutions.

Earlier this year, Bonnell Aluminum announced it was investing $17 million in an expansion project at its Newnan, GA, facility. The project includes the addition of a 9"-3,600 ton state-of-the-art aluminum extrusion press dedicated to serving the growing demand for aluminum extruded components from automotive and light truck original equipment manufacturers. Supporting the addition of the extrusion press will be precision cutting equipment. With orders for equipment placed, the planned startup is scheduled for early 2014.
