QUAN on Target with Consumer Demand Trends

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The trend is clear: The desktop computer's day is coming to a close, and the era of the tablet is underway. The new iPad accessories being developed now by Quantum International Corp. (OTCBB: QUAN) include many powerful features designed to ease users' transition from working and playing tethered to a desktop to a new, mobile tablet lifestyle.

According to figures from industry analyst IDC, the global tablet market is expected to grow by 38 percent this year, even as desktop PC shipments drop by 11.4 percent. More and more consumers are replacing their bulky, half-empty computer towers with sleek, stylish and portable iPads, the dominant device in the booming tablet market.

Despite their many powerful functions, however, there are still some computing tasks that are difficult or even impossible to perform on an iPad. Quantum is working to change that.

The company's forthcoming debut product is a hard-shell, protective iPad case that expands the tablet's capabilities, allowing users to dump their PCs for good. With the help of A Plus Technologies, Quantum is developing a case that increases the iPad's file storage capacity, battery life, connectivity and more, creating an all-in-one accessory the company expects will be desired by every iPad owner on the planet.

The company estimates that with an anticipated target price of $129 for its iPad case and a conservative estimate that just one in a hundred users decides to expand their new and existing iPad's capabilities, the sales could provide a market potential of $150 million. A successful product launch could mean extreme, rapid growth for Quantum.

Quantum International Corp. is working to develop the next generation of mobile and automation technologies to compete in a booming global industry alongside Intuitive Surgical, Inc.(NasdaqGS: ISRG), iRobot Corporation (NasdaqGS: IRBT) and Dover Corp. (NYS: DOV) .
