OMVS Adds Logistics Consolidation to Online Travel Model

TAMPA, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- On the Move Systems Corp. (OTCBB: OMVS) announced today that the company is working to expand its online travel booking platform now under development to include shipping and logistics options for businesses large and small.

Spending in the U.S. logistics and transportation industry alone totals about $1.3 trillion—a truly massive market. Despite the enormous amount of money spent on logistics nationwide, however, the industry has lagged behind in technology innovations that could make transporting smaller batches of goods an easy, cost-effective process, says OMVS CEO Patrick Brown.

"We see a major opportunity to apply the 'unsold hotel rooms' business model employed by successful companies such as Hotwire.com to the millions of shipping containers and cargo transport options crisscrossing the country on any given day," Brown said. "Offering discounted rates online for empty container space already scheduled for transport and other logistics options could be just as revolutionary in this space as online travel booking has been for the leisure industry."

OMVS is already working to develop new innovations in an online travel segment forecast by many industry researchers to represent almost a third of the trillion-dollar global travel market. The company plans to compete with online portals such as Kayak, Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz by focusing on underserved niche customers, such as high-end executive business travelers.

Adding online logistics solutions for large and small businesses is another ambitious goal for the fast-growing company as it works to capture a share of the online travel market alongside Priceline.com (NAS: PCLN) , TripAdvisor.com (NAS: TRIP) and Expedia.com (NAS: EXPE) .
