WEST ELM TO OPEN NEW RETAIL STORE IN ST. LOUIS
St Louis Galleria location will be the first West Elm location in Missouri
BROOKLYN, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Home furnishings retailer West Elm announced today that it will open a new retail store in St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at 10am. Located in the St. Louis Galleria, the 8,385 square foot store will open with the brand's Fall assortment which includes a diverse mix of furniture, home décor, gifts and artist collaborations. The St. Louis West Elm will be the brand's first location in Missouri and the store will feature handcrafted items sourced through Etsy, designed by eight local artists that specialize in everything from photography to bamboo flatware.
"Our customers are as passionate about supporting artists in their local communities as we are at West Elm," said Jim Brett, president of West Elm. "We are proud to be incorporating some of St. Louis' most talented artists into the assortment for our new store."
To celebrate the store opening, West Elm is hosting a sweepstakes* offering a chance to win a $2,000 gift card and giving away a free West Elm St. Louis tote bag with a minimum purchase of $50 to the first 300 shoppers. On opening day the complete West Elm bedding assortment will be 20% off and West Elm office furniture and accessories will be 15% off. Customers that purchase any West Elm Gallery Frame will receive a limited edition St. Louis print. Additional opening day activities include entertainment provided by a local DJ and free cookies from St. Louis-based Pint Sized Bakery.
At opening, the St. Louis store will feature new collaborations with more than six different artists and designers from around the world including pottery from Carla Peters and bedding from renowned textile designer Sarah Campbell. The Fall collection also includes new colors for the signature West Elm Parsons Desk as well as seven new sofa styles and several new mid-century inspired pieces. A rich color palette of cloudy blues, rainforest greens and chocolate browns are showcased throughout the collection and featured in playful patterns designed to be mixed and matched. The new store will also feature the brand's "West Elm Green" products - a label that proudly indicates responsibly produced, certified organic, recycled, rapidly renewable, or non-toxic products.
As in other West Elm locations, associates at the St. Louis store will be on hand to help customers discover their own personal style at home. Associates can assist customers in the West Elm Design Lab where customers can learn how to develop a mood board, properly measure, make a floor plan, style their space, tap into local recommended design resources or schedule an in-home consultation all free of charge.
