Alliant Energy to Pay Next Dividend in August

The lights of Alliant Energy are continuing to burn brightly, at least as far as the utility operator's shareholder payouts are concerned. The company has declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.47 per share, to be paid on Aug. 15 to holders of record as of July 31. That amount matches both of the firm's previous two disbursements, the most recent of which was paid in May. Before that, Alliant Energy handed out 2 cents less at $0.45 per share.

In the press release announcing the news, the company didn't shy away from mentioning that it has paid common stock distributions for 271 consecutive quarters stretching back to 1946.

The just-declared dividend annualizes to $1.88 per share. That yields 3.6% at Alliant Energy's most recent closing stock price of $52.29.
