Netflix Red Is the New Black

Netflix is back with more first-run programming this week. Lions Gate's Orange Is the New Black, a serialized drama about a women's penitentiary, will make its entire first season available through Netflix's popular streaming platform on Thursday.

Unlike Netflix rival Amazon.com that didn't greenlight production of new shows until running pilots past its viewers, Netflix is so confident about the new show's prospects after initial critical raves that it has already ordered a second season.
