NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- The law firm of Wohl & Fruchter LLP is investigating the proposed acquisition of Harris Teeter Supermarkets, Inc. (Harris Teeter) (NYS: HTSI) by The Kroger Co. (Kroger).
On July 9, 2013, Harris Teeter announced that Kroger will acquire all of the outstanding shares of Harris Teeter for $49.38 per share in cash. The acquisition price is a premium of less than 2% over the closing price of HTSI stock on July 8, 2013.
Kroger stated that Harris Teeter will continue to be led by its top management.
