HomeAway Expands to Fourth Austin Office, Twice the Size of its Downtown Location

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- HomeAway, Inc. (NAS: AWAY) , the world's leading online marketplace of vacation rentals, today announced its plans to expand to a permanent fourth office in North Austin with the signing of an 11-year lease.

The five-story, 114,665 square-foot office will seat approximately 750 employees and is slated to open in the second half of 2014. The build-to-suit building is located at 11800 Domain Blvd. in The Domain shopping complex.

Like its office in downtown Austin, the new HomeAway® office is designed to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification and will be equipped with fun, family vacation-themed design elements that reflect the company's culture and mission.

"Our employees voiced their desire to have an office in North Austin," says Brian Sharples, co-founder and CEO. "With easy access to a new Whole Foods, shopping and other tech companies, The Domain provided the best answer for our growing and geographically dispersed HomeAway family."

As with its previous offices, HomeAway enlisted the help of Austin-based companies to acquire and design its newest space, including Endeavor Real Estate Group, Kent Consulting Engineers, Lauck Group and Southwest Strategies Group. HomeAway also worked with Shorenstein Group, general partner of the entity, Domain Junction 2 LLC, which owns the building to be constructed.

Earlier this year, HomeAway signed an 18-month lease for a 200-person office located at 12301 Research Blvd. at the Research Park complex to temporarily accommodate the company's growing headcount. The employees currently working at the Research Park location will relocate from the temporary location to the new office at The Domain once the building is complete.

Founded in Austin eight years ago with a staff off six, HomeAway has grown to more than 1,308 employees worldwide, an increase of 29.5% year-over-year.
