Virtual Piggy Hires Award-Winning Mobile Design Director
Chief mobile designer for Vodafone, RBS and Ubuntu to lead Virtual Piggy's Mobile Consumer Experience Team
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Virtual Piggy, Inc. (OTCBB: VPIG), an innovator in safe youth payments, has today appointed Ivo Weevers as Creative Director Mobile Design, to lead and manage the mobile consumer experience team.
Mr. Weevers is an accomplished design leader with 15 years of experience in creating highly successful mobile, web, device, and desktop products across multiple platforms. He has directed design work and lead international design teams in the telecom, device, social media, banking, travel, entertainment, medical, and car industries.
Recently, Ivo headed up the design team for the Ubuntu operating system, where he directed the design of the full portfolio, including phones, tablets, desktops, apps, cloud services, and the brand. Before that, he led mobile design for RBS - one of the major UK international banks. Recent work has been described as "setting new grounds, unique and beautiful" by press such as the Wall Street Journal and Businessweek, as well as being featured in FastCompany.
His design work has received multiple awards including the Cannes Gold Mobile Lion and the BIMA innovation award for a new mobile payments solution. Ivo writes and speaks frequently on a variety of design topics. His work is published in the book Mobile Design Patterns.
