American Financial Keeps Dividend Steady

Insurance holding company American Financial Groupannounced today its second-quarter dividend of $0.195 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past three quarters after raising the payout 11% from $0.175 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on July 25 to the holders of record at the close of business on July 15. The insurance holding company has made quarterly payouts to investors since 2002. It paid a special dividend of $0.25 per share in December 2012.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.78-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.6% based on the closing price of American Financial Group's stock on June 28.
