Boost Mobile Donates $11,000 to Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Houston to Support Their Summer Lear

WHAT:

Boost Mobile recently partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to bring back its most successful handset promotion, $1 Phone Days. For each new customer who signed on from May 29 through June 2, Boost Mobile donated $1 to Boys & Girls Clubs. During $1 Phone Days this year, Boost Mobile raised more than $106,000 which will be donated to local Boys & Girls Clubs across the nation with an $11,000 donation locally the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

The donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston will support their Summer Learning Program that addresses the "summer slide" experienced by at-risk and underserved youth. The "summer slide" often occurs when youth are out of school during the summer without exposure to activities that reinforce concepts learned during the school year. This engaging program provides high-yield learning activities centered on math, reading, science, and fine arts.

For more than a century, Boys & Girls Clubs have served nearly 4 million young people, through membership and community outreach, in some 4,000 Club facilities throughout the country.
