Shaw Declares 3 Months of Dividend Payments

Canadian cable TV provider Shaw Communications announced yesterday three months of dividend payments on its Class A and Class B stock. It said the payouts would be $0.085 per share on the Class B shares and $0.084792 per share on the Class A shares.

The board of directors said the monthly dividends, which are designated as "eligible" dividends for Canadian tax purposes, are payable on each of Sept. 27, Oct. 30, and Nov. 28 to holders of record at the close of business on Sept. 13, Oct. 15, and Nov. 15, respectively. The cable TV provider has made monthly payouts to investors since 2009.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $1.02-per-share annual dividend, yielding 4.2% based on the closing price of Shaw Communications' stock on June 28.
