McCormick Hits Estimates, But GAAP Results Lag Last Year's
McCormick (NYS: MKC) reported earnings on June 27. Here are the numbers you need to know.

EPS came in at $0.61. The 15 earnings estimates compiled by S&P Capital IQ averaged $0.61 per share. Non-GAAP EPS of $0.61 for Q2 were 1.7% higher than the prior-year quarter's $0.60 per share. GAAP EPS of $0.59 for Q2 were 1.7% lower than the prior-year quarter's $0.60 per share.

For the quarter, gross margin was 39.3%, 20 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Operating margin was 11.6%, 70 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. Net margin was 7.8%, 40 basis points worse than the prior-year quarter. (Margins calculated in GAAP terms.)
Next quarter's average estimate for revenue is $1.04 billion. On the bottom line, the average EPS estimate is $0.82.
Next year's average estimate for revenue is $4.22 billion. The average EPS estimate is $3.20.
