Kroger Keeps Dividend Steady

Updated

Grocery store chain Krogerannounced today its third-quarter dividend of $0.15 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past three quarters after raising the payout 30% from $0.115 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Sept. 1 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 15. The grocery chain has made quarterly payouts to investors since 2006, when it reinstated the dividend, and has increased them annually since then. It expects to continue raising the payout annually going forward.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.60-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.7% based on the closing price of Kroger's stock on June 26.
