Charles River Associates (CRA) Vice President Jeffrey Matthews Receives 2013 Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year Award from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Charles River Associates (NAS: CRAI) , a worldwide leader in providing economic, financial, and management consulting services, today announced that Vice President Jeffrey Matthews has been awarded the 2013 Certified Fraud Examiner of the Year Award from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). The ACFE is the world's largest anti-fraud organization and a leading provider of anti-fraud training and education. The award, which recognizes an individual who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the field of fraud examination, was presented to Mr. Matthews on June 25, 2013 during a keynote session of the 24th Annual ACFE Global Fraud Conference. Mr. Matthews was nominated for the award by members within the ACFE community, and was selected based on his contributions to ACFE, the profession, and the community.

Jeffrey Matthews has significant experience in financial investigations, forensic accounting, and litigation support. Before joining CRA in 2011, he spent many years practicing for Big Four accounting firms, and state, local, and federal governmental bodies. He has investigated and provided oversight for investigations of federal and state criminal violations, and has advised on damage calculations involving many types of fraud, such as breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and misappropriation of trade secrets. He was instrumental in developing proprietary anti-fraud and compliance tools. He is a three-time national All-Star speaker, voted on by members of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and is the Past President of the Dallas Chapter of Certified Fraud Examiners. He developed and is currently teaching University of Texas at Arlington's inaugural Forensic Accounting and Fraud Investigations Class for the MBA program. He holds a BBA degree in Accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
