Ubisoft not ruling out PC release for Tom Clancy's The Division
When Ubisoft first showed off Tom Clancy's The Division at E3, the publisher announced that the game would be coming to Xbox One and PS4; however, in speaking with IGN, the team stressed that they are not ruling out other platforms -- most notably, the PC.
"It's set for release in winter 2014 on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One," said The Division's Ryan Barnard, "but we're not ruling out other platforms because we do also read the internet." Barnard was likely referring to the online petition for Ubisoft to bring The Division to PC; it currently sits at 110,512 supporters. Whether or not that will convince Ubisoft to explore this option further remains to be seen, but Barnard did say that "Ubisoft as a company considers... maximizing the potential for a game, so if the audience is there and the desire is there."
Tom Clancy's The Division is set three weeks after Black Friday; a virus has been spread across New York City via tainted dollar bills, and players -- part of the Division task force created by George Bush signing Directive 51 -- are sent in to mop up the mess.
