Media Advisory: Duracell Power Forward Trucks Bring Mobile Relief to Victims Affected by Alberta Floods

Working with the Canadian Fire Services, Duracell assists in recovery efforts with device charging stations and batteries for residents

WHO:

Duracell Power Forward Trucks will beavailable to individuals and families in need of power and ability to reconnect with loved ones in the wake of Alberta flooding.

WHAT:

Beginning Thursday, June 27th, two Duracell Power Forward Trucks will be moving throughout southern Alberta to provide power relief in areas of greatest need, making stops every day to help families as well as first responders reconnect with loved ones and stay powered up when they need it most.

These trucks are part of Duracell's Power Forward fleet and are distributing 18,000 batteries to help power important devices such as flashlights and radios. At each truck stop, people will also have access to charging stations for mobile devices and computers.

This service will be free to all victims, first responders and their families.

WHY:

Having the necessary power to stay connected to loved ones during a time of adversity is a priority for everyone affected by the recent floods. The Duracell Power Forward Trucks will provide the ability for residents to stay connected and power up equipment to help keep them safe.

In addition to deploying the Duracell mobile trucks, P&G's relief efforts will also include a donation of personal care kits which will together contain over 230,000 units of product from brands such as Dawn, Mr. Clean, Oral-B, Scope, Glide, Gillette, Always, Tampax, Herbal Essences and Pantene.

Our people and our brands are joining together to help relief workers and families whose homes, clothing and personal items have been impacted to help renew a sense of hope in a difficult time. This program is being made possible with the support of P&G's valued partners: the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC), the Canadian Volunteer Fire Services Association (CVFSA) and Purolator.

WHERE:

The Duracell Power Forward Trucks will be operating from 8AM-6PM with locations announced daily based on need and request. The mobile truck will be making multiple stops throughout the affected area.

For updates on upcoming locations and scheduling, visit Facebook.com/Duracell or follow @PGinsider on Twitter #PowerForward.

We expect to stay on location for about 5 days or, until the immediate needs of the local population are met. If we find that the demand for our services is continuing, we will try to stay until people's needs are being met by more long-term services. Once we find that the demand for these services is low and people no longer need our help, we'll provide 24 hours notice before we discontinue services and leave the area.

HISTORY:

Duracell brings its reliable power to communities affected by disasters through the Duracell Power Relief program. Trailers, trucks and stationary units allow victims of natural disasters to recharge, reconnect and recover by providing the power they need to stay safe and connected with what's most important to them.
