Baker's Doug Plasencia Elected President of ASFPM Foundation

PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Michael Baker Jr., Inc., an engineering unit of Michael Baker Corporation (NYSE MKT:BKR), announced today that Doug Plasencia, vice president and co-director of Baker's Civil and Environmental Engineering Practice, was elected as the new ASFPM (Association of State Floodplain Managers) Foundation President at the ASFPM Annual Conference in Hartford, Conn. The ASFPM Foundation is a separate entity within ASFPM that sponsors or supports a variety of events, outreach tools, scholarships, research and other activities focused on improved floodplain management for the nation. Contributions from individuals, corporations, and chapters of ASFPM support the work of the Foundation. The Foundation's hallmark event, Gilbert F. White Flood Policy Forum, brings together national and international experts to evaluate and provide recommendations on pressing policy issues. In February 2013, the group deliberated on coastal flooding and ecosystems, and adjustments needed in light of changing future conditions.
