Keynote Announces Mobile Web Perspective 7; Expands Global Mobile Testing and Monitoring Network in Europe and Africa

  • Expansion across Europe and South Africa reflects regions' burgeoning mobile use

  • Provides dramatically enhanced monitoring service on 4G wireless networks to measure end user performance on latest smartphones and tablets

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- VELOCITY CONFERENCE—Keynote® (NAS: KEYN) , the global leader in Internet and mobile cloud testing & monitoring, extended its global reach with the announcement of a dramatic expansion of its European and African mobile testing capabilities. New mobile monitoring locations have been established in Italy, Spain, South Africa and Turkey, adding access to a variety of new operator networks. This provides more comprehensive testing to assure the mobile experience on real devices, monitoring performance over the same wireless carriers as customers use. Keynote's news today is followed by the company's major move yesterday into Real User Monitoring with the announcement of Keynote Real User Perspective®. The two announcements underscore the breadth and depth of Keynote's cloud-based services in Internet and mobile testing and monitoring.

These new locations are being deployed with Keynote Mobile Web Perspective 7, the latest release of Mobile Web Perspective that introduces monitoring on 4G wireless networks. Mobile Web Perspective 7 makes it possible for these content providers to measure, improve and trend the true end-user experience for their mobile content on the latest smartphones and tablets such as iPhone 5, Samsung Galaxy S4 and the iPad 4. Keynote is also expanding its DeviceAnywhere testing platform with a new mobile device testing center in Germany.

"We are in the middle of a Web to mobile transition which requires investments to provide the best quality mobile experience," explains Thomas Gronbach, European director of marketing for Keynote. "Keynote is taking the lead to expand on its quality infrastructure for enterprises by adding real monitoring and mobile testing devices in Europe. Leading companies in Europe realize that mobile quality assurance helps their business. With these investments Keynote continues to ready itself for mobile enterprise business across Europe."

IDC announced in April 2013 that smartphone sales have overtaken feature phones for the first time and Cisco estimates that the number of mobile-connected devices will exceed the world's population in 2013 (Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast Update, 2012-17).

Today the Keynote testing and monitoring network comprises over 7,000 measurement computers and mobile devices in over 275 global locations.

Mobile Web Perspective accurately emulates over 2,200 mobile devices including tablets and all popular smartphones, and then downloads and renders the mobile website on a real WebKit browser. Keynote DeviceAnywhere provides users access via the internet to real handsets, enabling testing of mobile websites and native apps as if the user was holding the device in her hands. Keynote Mobile Web Perspective and the DeviceAnywhere platform are complementary technologies for assuring the connected experience of mobile device users, designed to make functional testing and production monitoring of mobile sites easy and affordable.

Pricing and Availability
