Bounty Paper Towels Bring Relief to Schools Affected by Hurricane Sandy

CINCINNATI--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Seven months after Hurricane Sandy impacted the Northeast, the rebuilding process continues to take place all along the Northeast. While some residences, business and institutions are back to normal, just as many are struggling to regain their footing. Many schools still closed, displaced or operating in less than ideal conditions - affecting not only the students and faculty, but the morale of the community as a whole.

While the school year is coming to a close, those impacted by Sandy will continue clean-up efforts throughout the summer and Bounty Paper Towels is striving to make those efforts a little bit easier. Bounty is helping with the clean-up and providing the appropriate tools needed to help schools get back to greatness through the #BountyRelief program, a series of product donations. Since the beginning of June, Bounty has donated 2,500 rolls of Bounty Select-A-Size to five schools throughout the Northeast, and is continuing the search.

Starting today, Bounty is putting out a call to the communities affected by Hurricane Sandy and asking consumers nominate or submit other schools in need of help. Fans and followers of Bounty's Facebook and Twitter pages can nominate schools still recovering from Hurricane Sandy using the hashtag #BountyRelief.

Five area schools were among the first to receive special #BountyRelief packages with YCS George Washington Elementary School in Hackensack, New Jersey the first. "I want to thank Bounty on behalf of the staff and students for your company's generous gift," said YCS Principal John Cerniglia. "As you know, we had a rough period but we are all happy to be back in our School Home in Hackensack. We appreciate all the support we were given and are fortunate enough to be able to add you to that list of supporters."

Additional schools include:
Cedar Creek Elementary - Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey
Spice Tree Nursery School - Belford, New Jersey
Memorial School - Union Beach, New Jersey
East Rockaway JSHS - East Rockaway, New York

"The Bounty brand is honored to give back and help schools and classrooms who were affected by Hurricane Sandy," said Tonia Elrod, Bounty Communications Manager. "Given so many schools are still fighting to rebuild their cafeterias, art classrooms and science labs, there is no better way for Bounty to bring it than by helping these schools get back on their feet."

From classrooms to gymnasiums, science labs to cafeterias, faculty and staff have assured Bounty just how far 500 rolls will go.
