Additional Background on Retail Electricity Choice

Retail electric choice provides customers the opportunity to shop for the best combination of electricity price and customer service to meet their needs. Under Ohio state law, customers are free to switch to a competitive electricity supplier with no impact on their utility service reliability. Consumers who choose to buy electricity through Constellation will experience exceptional customer service. They will see the new Constellation commodity price in the kilowatt-hour (kWh) rate for electric generation service listed on their monthly utility bill. Duke Energy will continue to handle all billing, and will continue to respond to all service inquiries, including queries about outages.
