American Capital Agency Sets Preferred Dividend

Mortgage REIT American Capital Agencyannounced yesterday a second-quarter dividend of $0.50 per share on its 8.000% Series A cumulative redeemable preferred stock that trades on the Nasdaq exchange under the symbol AGNCP.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on July 15 to the holders of record at the close of business on July 1. American Capital Agency also pays a regular quarterly dividend payment that it just cut to $1.05. That amounts to $4.20 per share annually, yielding 17.2% based on the closing price of the mREIT's stock on June 19.
