AECOM Inks $148 Million Qatar Contract

Updated

AECOM Technology will take its expertise to the small Arabian Peninsula state of Qatar. The company announced it has been awarded a contract to, in its words, "provide construction-supervision and design-review services" for that nation's Doha Expressway. The deal is worth $148 million and covers a period of three years.

The planned 105-mile long highway, which aims to connect the north of the country with the south, is also to boast foot and cycle paths, and space for a long-distance rail corridor. Construction on it was begun in 2007, and is anticipated to be finished in 2015.

AECOM said that its work on Doha Expressway will start right away.
