General Dynamics Supplies Army With $59 Million Worth of Guns and Ammo
As the week wound down, General Dynamics claimed a pair of contract wins from the Pentagon, worth more than $59 million combined.
The larger of the two awards, for an even $45 million, went to General D's Ordnance and Tactical Systems division, which will supply unspecified "equipment" for use at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant in Pennsylvania. This contract was awarded Thursday.
The smaller award, issued Friday, went to GD's similarly named Armament and Technical Products division. Here, General Dynamics will be paid $14.4 million as a modification of a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to supply M2A1 .50 caliber machine gun quick-change barrel kits to the Army. In making the award, the Department of Defense noted that General Dynamics is now receiving a total of nearly $57 million under this contract.
