GasLog Picks New COO

Updated

Monaco-based GasLog Ltd has a new COO.

The international operator of liquefied natural gas tankers announced Friday that it has promoted Executive Vice President for Operations and Strategy Graham Westgarth to the post of Chief Operating Officer.

Westgarth joined GasLog in January, arriving from rival tanker operator Teekay Shipping, where he had served in management since 1999. Prior to that, he had worked at Danish shipping giant Maersk for 12 years, including five years spent as general manager of the Maersk UK flag fleet. He currently also serves as chairman of the INTERTANKO shipping industry organization, which represents 80% of the world's independent tanker owners and operators.

GasLog is promoting him, its Chairman Peter G. Livanos said in a statement, "in order to make best use of Graham Westgarth's extensive experience and broad knowledge."

In related news, GasLog announced Friday that it has appointed former ExxonMobil executive Dennis M. Houston to its board as an independent director.
