VCA Animal Hospitals Offers Free Boarding for Pets Affected by Colorado Wildfires

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- VCA Animal Hospitals announced that select VCA hospitals in Colorado are offering free boarding assistance for small animals, including dogs, cats, birds and pocket pets, whose families have lost their homes or are among those evacuated due to the devastating wildfires. Burning northeast of Colorado Springs, the fire has destroyed at least 360 homes, making it the most destructive in state history.

"Our thoughts are with the families in Colorado who are again being impacted by wildfires and we are extending free boarding for small family pets that have been displaced," said Art Antin, Chief Operating Officer of VCA Animal Hospitals. "We want families to know that they can take care of their priorities during this critical time while knowing that their pets are being cared for in a safe environment."

Boarding assistance at participating Colorado VCA hospitals is based on space availability. Pets should be current on vaccinations, but in case they are not, VCA veterinarians will update vaccinations free of charge.
