Microsoft Keeps Dividend Steady

Updated

Microsoftannounced yesterday its third-quarter dividend of $0.23 per share, the same rate it's paid for the past three quarters after raising the payout 15% from $0.20 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on Sept. 12 to the holders of record at the close of business on Aug. 15. The software king has made quarterly payouts to investors since 2004 and has raised the dividend each year since 2011.

The regular dividend payment equates to a $0.92-per-share annual dividend, yielding 2.6% based on the closing price of Microsoft's stock on June 12.
