Wal-Mart is a lot like Clark Kent, with underestimated power and a longing for a flashy transformation to show the world what it's capable of achieving. This week, the discount department-store chain is showing what it can do as it promotes Friday's premiere of Time Warner's Man of Steel.

Wal-Mart is the only place Superman fans can buy tickets to a special Thursday night advance screening at more than 2,700 movie theaters across the country. In this video, longtime Fool contributor Rick Munarriz explains why the world's largest retailer has as much to gain as Time Warner does with this release.
