Tangoe Growth in LATAM Region Fueled by Adoption of BYOD and Connected Devices Within the Enterprise

Continued growth of mobility, wireless infrastructure and mobile computing devices drive enterprise need for increased mobile cost control and expanded data and network security

ORANGE, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Tangoe, Inc. (NAS: TNGO) , a leading global provider of Communications Lifecycle Management (CLM) software and related services, today announced that it is experiencing increased demand for mobile communications management solutions in Latin America, driven by the expanding number of enterprise-connected mobile devices in the region.

With seven years of experience in the LATAM region, Tangoe currently manages telecom expenses for 47 companies with operations in the region. Over the past 12 months, Tangoe has noted a significant increase in the demand for mobility management solutions within the LATAM region. Specifically, enterprises require solutions that enable them to better manage employees' mobile computing devices accessing the corporate network, while maintaining control and security of corporate data, applications, and infrastructure. Furthermore, technology analysts expect this trend for mobility management solutions to continue within the region given the expanding global Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend wherein devices owned by the employee are given access to corporate data. According to research from industry analyst firm Frost & Sullivan*, several key trends are expected to accelerate Latin America's use of mobile computing devices through 2025 including:

  • An increase in connected technology, with a projected 1.3 billion connected devices by 2016, including mobile phones, tablets and other machine-to-machine connected devices and

  • Growth in the mobile enterprise services market in the region, from $16.53 billion in 2012, to $24.69 billion in 2018, driven by an increased focus on the SMB market, with more mobile broadband, voice and data services being offered.

Tangoe's in-region sales and support staff has the local language skills, technology resources, and industry experience necessary to help enterprises in Latin America address their mobile device management requirements. In addition, Tangoe supports operations centers in 12 LATAM countries and has employees based in Mexico City, Mexico; Santiago, Chile; and Sao Paolo, Brazil.

"The increase in enterprise-connected mobile devices in the LATAM region has created significant challenges for enterprises in terms of managing their mobile environments," said Luis Crespo, SVP, Latin America, Tangoe. "With local language support staff and a track record of expertise in the region, Tangoe is well-positioned to help enterprises in Latin America gain visibility and control over the expanding number of mobility challenges they face as the BYOD trend continues to grow in this region."
