ROUND ROCK, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Dell and CSM Media Research have successfully enabled the commercial application of private cloud SDN (software-defined networking) with Dell's modular networking solutions. Major networking use cases include end-to-end management of a 10G network, network virtualization and real-time traffic monitoring across the network, as well as collaborative management. This successful cooperation will help CSM Media Research improve network security, agility and flexibility for future growth and is also a milestone as Dell's first commercial SDN solution in China.

CSM Media Research is one of the most authoritative television and radio audience measurement research institutions in China, with the world's largest audience measurement panel network. Established in 1997, the audience rating data provided by CSM is regarded as a key indicator in the broadcasting market.


CSM's commercial SDN deployment encompasses both network virtualization and network monitoring across a Dell 10G network architecture. The solution also includes Big Switch Networks Open SDN Suite as the SDN controller and application platform running on Dell's OpenFlow-enabled switches in a high-performance, converged and virtualized private cloud environment. The entire datacenter and campus networking infrastructure includes Dell Networking Z9000 40G core switches, Dell Networking S4810 10G distributed core, and Dell Networking 5500, 6200, 8100 switches. Additional components include Dell Active Fabric Manager, virtualized application and data security monitoring, as well as Dell Networking W-series wireless solution.
