AeroScout Industrial and Three AeroScout Customers Receive 2013 Manufacturing Leadership 100 Awards

Deere & Co, Genentech and TowerJazz recognized for Operational Excellence

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- AeroScout today announced that Frost & Sullivan's Manufacturing Leadership Council honored three of its customers—Deere & Co, Genentech and TowerJazz—with 2013 Manufacturing Leadership 100 (ML100) Awards for Operational Excellence. For its role in supporting these customers, AeroScout Industrial received an ML100 Technology Partner Award.

ML100 Awards recognize companies and individuals that are shaping the future of global manufacturing. This year's winners were honored earlier this month at an event following the ninth annual Manufacturing Leadership Summit. Manufacturing leaders from around the globe convened in Palm Beach, Florida for the summit and award celebration.

"Congratulations to AeroScout Industrial for its contribution in driving lean manufacturing initiatives at Deere & Co, TowerJazz and Genentech and a hearty well done to those companies for achieving the distinction of winning ML100 awards this year," said David R. Brousell, Global Vice President and Editorial Director, at ManufacturingExecutive. "I would like to further congratulate AeroScout Industrial on winning an ML100 Technology Partner Award in recognition for helping to drive change at these companies."

Deere & Co enhances efficiency of mainline assembly, kitting processes

Multi-billion-dollar heavy-equipment manufacturer Deere & Co received an ML100 Award for improving processes related to its MaxEmerge™XP row-crop planters. With 27 mainline assembly stations operating with a high degree of variability, Deere & Co used AeroScout-enabled wireless asset tracking to monitor day-to-day performance and derive operational insights to support longer-term efficiency improvements. Deere & Co also implemented a Real Time Location System (RTLS) for monitoring and tracking more than 700 unique parts across a 40,000-square-foot welding area. AeroScout's RTLS solution supports on-demand parts replenishment, which has led to a 40-percent cycle time reduction and a five-percent improvement in takt time.

TowerJazz uses RFID to improve operational efficiency

TowerJazz—the global specialty foundry leader—is using RFID to monitor thousands of lots as they move through hundreds of steps in its highly non-linear manufacturing process. The AeroScout WIP tracking solution allows each lot to be tagged and tracked—with dispatch lists automatically updated in real time. By enabling greater automation and leaner processes, the solution has helped TowerJazz reduce labor costs, improve on-time production and strengthen its position in a highly competitive market.

"Deere & Co, Genentech and TowerJazz have demonstrated how AeroScout solutions help to drive innovation and efficiency by improving enterprise visibility," said Janet Chaffin, President of AeroScout Industrial. "We congratulate these leaders, not only for the awards but also, for the measurable improvements they've delivered within their organizations."
