Hurco Q2 Top and Bottom Lines Rise

Hurco Companies results for the company's Q2 have been released. For the quarter, sales and service fees totaled $49.6 million, up from the $46.0 million of the same period the previous year. Net income also rose, advancing to $3.2 million ($0.48 per diluted share) to eclipse Q2 2012's figure of just under $3.0 million ($0.45).

For the first six months of fiscal 2013, however, the situation was the opposite. Hurco Companies recorded sales and service fees of $93.7 million, which was lower than the $97.1 million the firm posted in the comparable year-ago period. Similarly, net income fell, dropping to $5.4 million ($0.83 per diluted share) from $7.6 million ($1.16).
