Prosperity Bancshares Keeps Dividend Steady

Houston-based bank holding company Prosperity Bancshares announced today its second-quarter dividend of $0.215 per share, the same rate it paid the last two quarters after raising the payout 10% from $0.195 per share.

The board of directors said the quarterly dividend is payable on July 1 to the holders of record at the close of business on June 17. The bank holding company has made quarterly cash payouts since at least 1997.

The regular dividend payment equates to an $0.86-per-share annual dividend, yielding 1.7% based on the closing price of Prosperity Bancshares' stock on June 5.
